“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty of our sins.”
Romans 3:23-24
Sin – actions contrary to the will of God and ultimately cause us to fall and will lead to eternal hell. Sin separates us from our Holy Father (Isaiah 59:2) and leads to death and there is only one way to save us from this and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus, who knew no sin, took all of our sins upon himself and shed his blood (for you and me) so that we can be saved and made right with our Father. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Wow. I am continually thankful for this gracious gift because it cost us nothing but God his one and only son.
It is the belief and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God’s grace that allows us to be made right with God. This allows us to reach our Father in heaven and come to the Holy throne to ask for forgiveness. That is why repenting from our sins is so important as sin does not allow us to have a close relationship with our Father. God is HOLY and cannot come close to sin. God has placed a longing for a relationship with him in all of us. I can attest to this because before being saved, I longed for this for so long. I was in constant repeated sin. Sin is disguised as fulfillment but it only leaves you emptier. The enemy wants to keep you in sin so you do not have a relationship with God. This is his trick of deception!
I have sinned and so have you. We must position our hearts to really want to turn from ourselves and do the Father’s will. This is truly repenting. The turning away from sin starts with our hearts and minds. This is acknowledging that what we have done is sinful and God is right, asking for forgiveness and turning from the sin and towards God. Leaving the sin behind and focusing our efforts on Jesus. Peter says, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” Acts 2:38
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” John 1:19
As God’s children, we constantly confess our sins, ask for forgiveness and turn away from sin and God is faithful to forgive. No one is perfect, only Jesus is and so we are striving to be more and more like him. We are picking up our cross and denying ourselves DAILY! This reminds me to stay close to the Lord, allow the Holy Spirit to lead my life as he will only lead me to truth, read the word daily, remember the magnitude of sin and its impact on my life and continue to strive to want the will of the Father to be done. I pray you all stay encouraged on your walk with Jesus. We continue to place our faith in Jesus Christ to be made and stay right with God (Romans 3:23). Remember that God created you and he loves you. He wants to have a relationship with you but we must honor him, obey his commands and follow his laws. They are there for a reason!!
“Thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)
I love you and Jesus does too!!
