He Has RISEN!

He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

Matthew 28:6

Our king has risen!! As we continue to enjoy the joy of the resurrection of the Lord, as this is a daily remembrance, it is a reminder that the pain Jesus endured on the cross was for you and me. The cross was not easy yet Jesus faced it. He let the father’s will be done. (Luke 22:42) He remembered us on that cross and he stayed on the cross until it was finished. (John 19:30) Sometimes it can be hard picking up our cross and staying on the path of following Jesus yet the cross was much harder and Jesus did it, for you and me. And he was risen with all power! Our savior has all the power and he gave us his power through the holy spirit, who lives within us. What an amazing undeserved gift. Emotions arise as I think about the sins I have committed and Jesus chose to pay it all for me. As I learn more about all the suffering and pain Jesus went through for me because he loved me, he deserves my all in this life. After all, he gave me a new life and a life to live abundantly. (John 10:10) Because of sin and this fallen world, we all deserved to be on that cross yet Jesus took that payment for us. Thank you, Jesus!

The section in the opening scripture that stands out is “just as he said would happen”. God does not lie. God is faithful and true. As Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection were prophesied in scripture and spoken by Jesus himself, Jesus endured the cross, paying for all our sins, died yet rose back to life. It is important to be redundant because I keep thinking, who on earth has done that?? This helped solidify my faith that knowing Jesus concurred death. I too like many, feared death. It’s the unknown but everyone will evidently pass away. We know that to be a fact. But knowing that Jesus died and came back, gives me peace. Whenever God wants us back home it’s planned and it is in his perfect time and there is no fear of death any longer. How encouraging! Death has no more sting; the grave has no victory. (1 Corinthians 15:55)

As we continue in our walk with Christ, stay encouraged when picking up your cross daily. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. ” (Galatians 5:24)

Remember who you are doing it for and the weighty price that was paid. Be uplifted by what Jesus did for you. He sees you and knows you by name. Advocating for you at the right hand of the Father.

A question I leave with you is, how has the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus helped with your faith in him?

I love you and Jesus does too!!
